Who Are We?

St Paul’s Mission Statement

“Receiving and sharing the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of the Father in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.”

St Paul’s Vision Statement

“A lighthouse growing brighter and stronger, shining God’s light of life into our community.”

What do we Believe?

St Paul’s is an Anglican Church in the Evangelical tradition. What we believe can be traditionally stated by the Church statements of faith:

The Apostle’s Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
      creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
      He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
      was crucified, died, and was buried;
      he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
      He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
      the holy apostolic* church,
      the communion of saints,
      the forgiveness of sins,
      the resurrection of the body,
      and the life everlasting. Amen.

The following is a more contemporary Statement of our belief:

We believe that God is good and made this world perfect.

We believe that the world is now broken by human sin.

We believe that God chose to heal this world by taking the effects and punishment for sin upon himself, as the man Jesus.

We believe that Jesus was raised from death, and now rules over everything.

We believe that faith in Jesus and obedience to God fulfils our purpose in this life and brings a Joy which will last even into eternity!

We believe that God should be glorified and honoured as he deserves.

    Worshiping God

At St Paul’s there are three opportunities every Sunday to gather together as God’s people for the worshiping of Him, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

    Bible

We seek to shape our lives by a growing knowledge, understanding and application of the Word of God, the Bible.

    Prayer

A t St Paul’s we seek to deepen our dependence on our Heavenly Father through prayer.

    Personal and corporate times of prayer consist of praising, thanking and seeking His forgiveness, and bringing all our requests to Him. We pray knowing;

    • God the Father loves to hear us pray.
    • God the Son makes our prayers pleasing to God the Father.
    • God the Holy Spirit helps us to pray.

    Being Disciples of Christ

We are eager to submit to Jesus’ Lordship and be transformed in all areas of our lives in Christ’s likeness.

    A welcoming Church

We seek to be caring and nurturing. We desire to encourage the current and new members and visitors to love as Christ has commanded.

    Commited to Growing

Under God we seek to discover, develop and lovingly use our God-given abilities, working together for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

     Connecting and sharing our faith

We seek to produce connecting activities for our local community. We also seek opportunity to honestly share the good news of Jesus.
